My Recipes: Grilled Milkfish in Tomato Soup (Sinigang sa Kamatis na Isdang Ihaw)

Sinigang is a popular dish here in the Philippines. It's basically known for its sour taste. One way to get a sour taste on your dish is by using Tomatoes (kamatis). So we will be using tomatoes` on the the recipe that I'll be sharing with you which is also one of my favorites. My mother would always cook this when I am still living with them and she actually doesnt have a name for this dish (I think she just learned the recipe from my grandmother as well), so when I would request that dish, I'll have to explain the whole dish to her. Now, I just thought of calling the dish as Grilled Fish in Tomato Soup (in tagalog: Sinigang sa Kamatis na Isdang Ihaw). Later on you will discover that from the name itself, you will know how to cook this refreshing dish. So let's start!

Ingredients:
2 pcs Milkfish, sliced
1 bunch Kangkong leaves (use the tender ones only)
6 pcs tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp Shrimp Paste (Bagoong in tagalog)
3 pcs long green chili
1 pc Onion
3 cloves Garlic
4 cups Water
Salt

Here's how to cook:
1. Grill the sliced Milk Fish and set aside.
2. Saute garlic, onions and shrimp paste. Add tomatoes and let it simmer for 3 minutes or until tomatoes are soft (you can put a cover on the pan so that it'll be easier to cook the tomatoes).
3. Then add 4 cups of water and the grilled fish as well. Bring it to boil then add kangkong leaves and long green chili.
4. Let it simmer for five minutes.

Try it and tell me if you like the recipe.

Free Header Images For your Blog

Although I like creating images or editing pictures, I just try to make my blog simple. I just want to avoid editing my blog header. So to make my simple creations valuable, I'll just post them here so other bloggers can get them for free and use them on their website.

SEA
SUNFLOWER
ANIMALS

Notice that I used my blog name on these samples. I used Paintshop Pro to create these images. As you can see, Im just a newbie when it comes to graphics designing so what I have are just simple headers. But I know that practice makes perfect so I just continue to learn the craft and hoping that I'll be very good designer one day.

Here are the original templates which you can also use.

SEA

SUNFLOWER

ANIMALS

To use any of the images as your blog header, simply follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Blogger account
  2. Click on TEMPLATE tab.
  3. Click on PAGE EMELENTS.
  4. At the top part of your Page Elements window, you will have your HEADER information (just below the Navbar). Click on the EDIT link.
  5. Indicate where you would like to get your image from, either "From your computer" or "From the web." If "From your computer" was selected, click BROWSE and locate the image. If "From the web" was selected, just type the URL of the image.
  6. Then click the option that you would like to use between the two: "Behind title and description" or "Instead of title and description"
  7. Click on SAVE CHANGES.

So if you wish to have your blog name written in free headers, like the ones on the samples, or you have your own graphics and would like to have it customized, leave comment on this post so I can grant your request =)

Happy Blogging
